LOCAL VOLUNTEER FIRE COMPANY SAVES 25% THROUGH PPL UTILITY REBATES

What an improvement! Everything was easy to install and made a huge difference in the quality of the light. Thanks for your assistance with getting the materials and PPL rebate. It was an excellent project for us.”

The Silverdale Fire Company is a volunteer fire company that has been serving the Borough of Silverdale, Pennsylvania, since 1914. The department responds to over 400 fire and EMS calls annually.

Problem

The lighting inside the station’s truck bays and outside the access doors needed to be updated. The areas required better illumination to keep the volunteers safe and allow them to spot and gather tools and equipment quickly and efficiently during critical moments. The challenge lay in upgrading the lighting for a safer environment while managing to stay within its volunteer-based budget.

Solution

The department contacted their local Fromm branch, where counter sales representatives discussed lighting options with them and put them in touch with an energy efficiency specialist who assisted them in applying for utility rebates.

Result

Fromm was able to provide the Silverdale Fire Company with the LED lighting material it needed—we also helped the company uncover some significant savings through PPL utility updates:

  • Total before rebate: $1595.38
  • Total after rebate: $1193.39
  • Savings of $402.00 or 25%
