LED CONVERSION AT HOTEL LEADS TO HIGHER LIGHTING QUALITY AND LOWER ENERGY CONSUMPTION AND COSTS

The Sheraton at Valley Forge, owned by Wurzak Hotel Group, is a popular upscale hotel option for travelers staying in the Chester County, Pennsylvania area.

Problem

Several years ago, the hotel agreed to allow a contractor to install compact fluorescent lamps (CFLs) in a bid to save energy and reduce costs. The CFLs were installed correctly, but soon the hotel began receiving complaints from guests about the lighting, particularly in the bathrooms. The most common complaint: the CFLs took too long to fully illuminate the bathroom.

Solution

Seeking a solution, the hotel contacted Fromm. Fromm’s team of lighting and energy efficiency specialists worked with the hotel to evaluate the situation and discuss better lighting options. The hotel decided to renovate its lighting by converting to LED lamps, which made a measurable difference. Guests no longer complained about the lighting, and energy consumption decreased. Fromm also assisted the hotel in applying for a utility rebate from PECO, citing the LED conversion.

Result

To the hotel’s pleasure, the approved utility rebate was substantial enough to cover a majority of the project’s cost! Fromm’s expertise and willingness to walk its customers through the rebate process made The Sheraton and Wurzak Hotel Group satisfied and returning customers.
